As the demand for high speed trains increases, next generation Korean high speed train development and
it’s commercialization was required, as it became difficult to have sole technical capabilities with the existing
KTX core system technology.

The Korean high speed train (HSR 350X) project was started by the Educational Industrial Research
Consortium and a government supported R&D business. The Korean high speed train (HSR 350X) was
designed, produced, tested, and finally completed.
The localizable design technology with a maximum speed of 350km/h was developed by Hyundai Rotem
through the assembly and test phasing, and the test for stabilization proceeded on the actual railroads.

Hyundai Rotem is producing 300km/h-class KTX-Sancheon by the world’s fourth commercialized
high speed train technology.
