Product Information

Hybrid low-floor tram, both catenary and catenary-free

Hyundai Rotem has developed a tram system that can be run in both a catenary and catenary-free way by using the battery installed in the vehicle as the power source instead of relying on the existing external power source. Since it is possible to operate without catenary in the city, it is eco-friendly and efficient without compromising urban aesthetics. In addition, through the development of 100% low-floor bogie technology, unlike the existing subway or elevated LRVs, pedestrian accessibility to the platform has been improved and consideration has been given to making it easy for people with reduced mobility, such as those with wheelchairs or strollers, to get on and off.

Eco-friendly transportation

LRVs is suitable for transport capacities of less than a subway and more than a bus. It is an environmentally friendly means of urban transportation without concerns about pollution due to smoke or noise. Hyundai Rotem's LRVs can be operated easily even around sharp curves due to the adoption of a cross-linked connecting device. A completely unmanned operation method has been adopted, so operation costs are low and while all the features of punctuality, safety and promptness have been maintained.
