Diesel Electric Locomotives

Hyundai Rotem has been developing/manufacturing diesel-electric locomotives since the mid-1970s through a technical partnership with GM/EMD of the United States. With the investment of years of accumulated expertise and improved manufacturing methods, the diesel-electric locomotives have proven the effects of cost savings, reliability and quality excellence over the years.

Electric Locomotives

The new electric locomotives can operate a 700-ton passenger train at up to 150 Km/h on a flat line in the electrified section of AC 25 KV, 60 Hz. It is designed to operate in the climatic conditions of -35 ~ 45℃. Since starting overseas exports of electric locomotives starting with Turkey in 2011, Hyundai Rotem is responding to the needs of various customers by designing optimal locomotives for the conditions of each region.
